Apple is exploring wireless charging via Wi-Fi routers

Implementation of Apple's wireless pricing might be more advanced than existing solutions provided by other brands.

Based on Apple's application to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Apple is exploring a process for transferring electronic devices through frequencies used for data communications such as cellular frequencies between 700 MHz and 2700 MHz and Wi-Fi Communications operating at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

It has been widely reported that Apple incorporates wireless charging capacity for the following iPhone. The iPhone manufacturer has been working on wireless charging technologies since 2010. A patent application filed in November 2010 has revealed an Apple magnetic resonance charging technology that allows a device to be charged to the air at a distance of approx. a meter.

The company also escaped two engineers specializing in wireless charging since uBeam last year. In addition, Apple would have worked with Energous on the WattUp technology of the latter which allows to charge remote devices without contact. Apple supplier Dialog Semiconductor has invested 10 million US dollars to resume its silicone operations. JPMorgan analyst Harlan Sur said Apple would likely use a custom wireless Broadcom pricing system.
